So About That Time Rupert Grint Watched Shia LaBeouf Drop Acid

It’s an interesting time for ole’ crazy, tweeting, plagiarizing Shia LaBeouf, that’s for sure.

It seems that when LaBeouf isn’t busy announcing his retirement, or un-retiring only a few days later to attack a Canadian funnyman with non-sensical tweets, he’s going deep into that method acting, man.

According to noted Parry Gripp inspiration Rupert Grint, when the two worked together on the set of Charlie Countryman, LaBeouf dropped acid in order to find “the deepest, darkest level of his character,” whatever the hell that means.

Seeing as how this is Shia LaBeouf, of course he did it in front of the cast and crew:

“He smashed the place up, got naked and kept seeing this owl,” he described.

Think about this the next time you complain that Steve from Accounting didn’t fill up the coffee pot. Some people had to go to work and deal with a naked, rampaging Shia LaBeouf talking about how he should have been the one to get Hedwig for his 11th birthday.

To make it all even LaBeoufier, he actually took the wrong freaking drug:

“In the script, it’s Carpathian ecstasy, a special hostel ecstasy that exists in maybe just Bucharest,” Fredrik Bond, the film’s director, said in a previous interview.

“So, Shia said he took acid? I didn’t know he went out and said that,” Bond added. “But it was always ecstasy in the script.”

While LaBeouf is long known for his commitment to being in character, even if it involves sending in a sex video to get a role, Grint still said it was a bit much to process:

“If anything will make you not do drugs, it’s watching that.”
