Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris won’t be back for the next Superman movie, after working with Bryan Singer on Superman Returns and X2.

Industry chatter claimed the studio would start fresh with a new take on the Man of Steel, as if the previous pic never happened.  Reasons mentioned were the introduction of Superman’s son with Lois Lane, as well as the film’s less-than-expected domestic haul of $200 million and another $191 million overseas.

No one cited the whole Superman can overcome kryptonite if he believes hard enough subplot as a reason not to invite these guys back?  Because, you know, that’d be a good reason too.  Superhero movies are bad enough without wondering if Dr. Phil got writing credit.

But hopefully, this will all be a moot issue, as Justice League will be so bad that people won’t be able to see a Superman suit without vomiting bile and spewing blood from the eyes.
