Brilliance: Pee Wee Herman redubs the Lincoln trailer

After an unprecedented hype-building period that included the now-standard trailer for the trailer and a “Google Hangout” (whatever the f*ck that is) attended by Spielberg and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the trailer for Lincoln finally arrived last week. The man described by Pete Hammond as “the War Horse of presidents” finally has his own biopic, and as with all of Spielberg’s most recent projects, it seems liable to collapse under the weight of its own crushing self-regard.

Every self-serious entertainment product needs an equally lazy parody, and Jimmy Fallon and Pee Wee Herman provide it with their award-winning† “Pee Wee Dubs” series (see also: Pee Wee does The Dark Knight Rises). It’s 19 seconds long and they NAILED it.

I have nothing to add to this, other than to say that I’d like to see a dub that includes these guys performing John Williams’ score:
