Zach Galifianakis is a comedian that douchebag frat boys, douchebag hipsters, and even handsome secret agents like myself can agree on (see for yourself after the jump). Needless to say, roles like Ashton’s Kutcher’s buddy in What Happens in Vegas aren’t worthy a man of such prodigious talents and beard. Thankfully, Todd Phillps, the guy behind Road Trip and Old School is making him into a leading man.
In “Hangover,” Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms play best buddies at a wild Las Vegas bachelor party who lose the groom just hours before his wedding.
Galifianakis is also starring in an HBO pilot called Bored to Death.
In “Death,” Galifianakis plays Ray, a struggling comic book artist and best friend to Jonathan (Jason Schwartzman), an alcoholic writer who pretends to be a private detective. Ted Danson also stars in the project from writer Jonathan Ames and director Alan Taylor. [THR]
Every other movie has a characters who’s a comic book artist, even though I can’t imagine there are more than 20 people in the world who are actually full-time comic book artists. They’re more overrepresented in media than vampires. In related news, Ted Danson is still alive.
