‘Assassin’s Creed’ Goes To India And Russia In Games Based On Graphic Novels By Top Comic Creators

The Assassin’s Creed Chronicles games are back-to-basics 2D platformers featuring Assassins who perhaps aren’t quite ready for a full Assassin’s Creed game yet. Earlier this year, Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, and in early 2016, they’ll be dropping Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Russia.

Interestingly, the main characters from these upcoming games have already appeared in graphic novels created by talented comic creators Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl. The assassin star of Chronicles: India, Arbaaz Mir, first appeared in the graphic novel Assassin’s Creed: Brahman, and we first saw Chronicles: Russia star Nikolai Orelov in Assassin’s Creed: The Fall and Assassin’s Creed: The Chain. Hopefully these comics provide a solid foundation for the latest Assassin’s Creed games, as Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China suffered from a somewhat shallow story and characterizations.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India will be released January 12, 2016 and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia arrives February 9, 2016. Both games will cost $10 and can be bought in a bundle along with Chronicles: China.

Anybody read the comics these games were based on? Interested in playing Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Russia? I’d really like to see a full-blown Assassin’s Creed game set in India or Russia, but I guess a 2D platformer will do.
