‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Has Its Special Edition Canceled

Every major video-game release now needs to have a super-special edition, where you not only get the game and some DLC, you also get a fancy case, an artbook and usually some sort of overpriced collectible. In Batman: Arkham Knight‘s case, that was the Batmobile Edition, which came with a transforming Batmobile statue courtesy of Project Triforce. “Was” being the operative word, since it’s been canceled.

According to VG 24/7, it was canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of the product.” Since every other edition is going out, that more or less confirms something went wrong with the transforming statue.

The good news is that fans won’t be out the money; they’ll either get the edition with all the other stuff, the standard game, or a full refund. And really, the game itself should ease the pain; there’s nothing like punching supervillains in the face to make you feel better.
