These Halloween Updates From EA Sports Will Make Your Madden, NHL, And FIFA Teams Terrifying

It’s the time of year where brands start doing stuff to get you in the Halloween spirit. EA Sports decided to get in on this trend and announce spooky updates to its three most popular games: Madden NFL 17, FIFA 17, and NHL 17.

Two of these updates are available right now. If you have FIFA, you can get to know The Scream Team within the brand new Ultimate Team event called Ultimate Scream. Twenty-three players will receive this distinction – which includes players like Thomas Müller, Dimitri Payet, and Andrea Pirlo – and get temporary boosts. These packs are available up until Oct. 28, and Ultimate Scream will be around in various capacities until Nov. 7. EA has all the details for you right here.

Additionally, NHL‘s special update applies to its version of Ultimate Team from now until Nov. 4. Five of six candy collectables – candy cord, chocolate bar, foil wrapped candy, licorice, and lollipop – can be obtained via “Trick or Treat packs” and used for different awards in combination with Carbon and Gold Collectables. The sixth collectable is a Master collectable: a bag of candy, which could be yours if you complete an Epic Player Set.

Lastly, there’s Madden, which will have its own update that will do things like make Michael Vick go from an 82 OVR to a 95 OVR thanks to the Most Feared Packs. This update will go from Oct. 27 to Nov. 4, and will impact more than 20 NFL legends and current players. There’s also the daily Most Feared Key that you’ll get every day, which you can use to get a Trick or a Treat behind an open door.

Oh, and if you expected the game to do something special for the NFL’s game between Minnesota and Chicago on Halloween night, you’re in luck. If you log into Ultimate Team between Oct. 27 and 30, you’ll receive a free Most Feared Brian Urlacher. Not bad.

So yeah, instead of spending your money on a costume this Halloween, go buy one of these three games and get sucked into their various Ultimate Team modes instead.
