While I don’t particularly feel like being burned at the stake today, I have to admit I didn’t really like Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The plot, particularly the overly elaborate final action sequence, felt like it was ripped straight from a video game, so I suppose it’s fitting that the folks a CineFix have made The Winter Soldier the subject of their latest 8-Bit Cinema video.
And hey, The Winter Soldier looks pretty fun in video game form! The big climatic action scene aboard the SHIELD carrier works great as an old-school shoot ’em up! And video games have a rich history of making players fight multiple guys on moving elevators. The only thing missing is somebody entering “Hail Hydra” at the password screen to get sent straight to the final boss.
