Prior to a few days ago, few people had ever heard of the ridiculously named Kim Dotcom (no, that’s not his real name), the founder of Megaupload. But with the Feds laying the wood to his company last week, the 6’7” 300+ lb German-Finnish playboy geek is suddenly in the spotlight, and a lot of people, yours truly included, are mildly fascinated by him. After all, the account of his arrest last week sounded like something James Bond novelist Ian Fleming would have dreamed up.
When police officers attempted to arrest the man accused of being one of the world’s biggest internet pirates at his multi-million pound mansion, things were a bit trickier than they might have expected. Instead of giving himself up easily, Kim Dotcom refused to let the police in, activated a number of locking mechanisms in his sprawling home and then hid in a safe room.
So earlier today Buzzfeed posted a list of the “14 Most Interesting Facts About Kim Dotcom,” and while all of the things they referenced are indeed interesting, they left out what I think is the most interesting fact of all regarding Kim Dotcom: he’s the best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player in the world.
Yes, Mr. Dotcom himself has been spending hours upon hours playing as “MEGARACER” and has been slaying all opponents, reports Kotaku.
I just checked the Xbox 360 leaderboards and MEGARACER, Dotcom’s gamertag, still is in first place overall with 180,980 kills all time, good for a score of 9.05 million. Further, he’s still No. 1 on the weekly leaderboard with 29,129 kills, despite being arrested on Thursday in the safe room of his New Zealand mansion. His kill-to-death ratio is 2.1 lifetime and, needless to say, he’s level 80.
To boast about his MW3 accomplishments, Dotcom uploaded a highlight video to YouTube on New Years Eve. In the video’s description, he writes…
Currently over 150,000 kills. Best of 15+ million online players! Don’t hate me because I beat you. Respect me because I teach you :-)
