Watch Leatherface And An Alien Xenomorph Wreak Bloody Havoc In ‘Mortal Kombat X’

Mortal Kombat X may have come out in early 2015, but Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios will keep supporting the game in a big way in 2016. How so? With four new characters and a host of other DLC.

The four new characters are Leatherface of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a xenomorph from the Alien franchise, a drunken Bo Rai Cho and Tri-Borg (a combination of the classic robot characters Cyrax, Sektor and Smoke). Of the four additions, Leatherface definitely looks like the best, as his chainsaw-wielding antics are a Mortal Kombat match made in heaven. Then again, you can fart on your opponent as Bo Rai Cho, so there’s that.

The new characters will be part of the Kombat Pack 2, essentially an entire second season pass worth of content. In addition to new Kombatants, the pack will also grant access to almost a dozen new character skins and the previous pre-order exclusive, Goro. Kontent from the Kombat Pack 2 will roll out some time in early 2016, though a precise date has not yet been provided. A specific price also hasn’t been nailed down, though the first Kombat Pack cost $30.

What do you think of the new Kombatants? The heavy reliance on horror movie icons would seem cheesy in almost any other game, but it’s a perfect fit for Mortal Kombat. Keep ’em coming, I say.
