Lara Croft Actually Raids A Tomb In This Latest ‘Rise Of The Tomb Raider’ Footage

You certainly can’t accuse Rise of the Tomb Raider of a lack of variety. So far, we’ve been treated to footage of Lara Croft trudging through the snow and fighting a bear in a frozen wilderness, and giving an entire unsuspecting camp of mercenaries the Rambo treatment in a lush, forested setting. Well, now we have footage of Lara exploring an actual, honest to goodness tomb. No, really!

This latest gameplay demo, which is more than 13 minutes long, sees Lara exploring a dry, dusty canyon area after being in a violent jeep accident (of course). Before long, she’s found some ancient ruins and is platforming, creeping through dark, cobwebby passages and destroying ancient relics just like Lara Croft ought to. Hell, she’s even wearing a variation on her classic blue top and khakis look. Sadly, she doesn’t fight a T-rex in this video, but other than that, this is pretty much what I want out of a Tomb Raider game.

This is easily the best looking Rise of the Tomb Raider sequence we’ve seen so far. Hopefully, this actual tomb raiding stuff is a major part of the game, and not just a brief nod they’ve thrown in to appease the old-timers.
