‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan’ Reveals A New Trailer

Platinum Games surprised everybody last year with Transformers: Devastation, a ridiculously fun beat-’em-up that was like playing an episode of the cartoon. And it looks like Platinum is trying for that magic again with a new title, namely a brawler starring everyone’s favorite reptilian martial artists.

We don’t get a lot of actual gameplay in this trailer, although it is filled with some loving nods to the history of the Turtles and we get an eyeful of Bebop, Rocksteady, Shredder, and more obscure baddie Armaggon, which is a pretty deep dig even for a game mostly based of the 2012 TV show. They keep the cel-shaded style of Devastation, which looks good.

As for the scraps of gameplay we actually see, it looks like Platinum is taking its cues from the classic Konami brawlers of yore, while adding a few touches of their own. It appears that the Turtles can team up to take down squads of foot with super moves, and that all four Turtles will be around to give that ninja clan the beatings it deserves. That said, we hope they avoid any water levels; for aquatic creatures, the Turtles don’t seem to enjoy the water in video games.
