The UPROXX GammaStream Gets Adorable With ‘Tearaway Unfolded’

Tearaway, when it debuted, got critical raves for Media Molecule’s patented whimsical style, this time applied to papercrafts, and its surprisingly tight and clever platforming built to use its console to the fullest. Unfortunately, the one-two punch of being released on the Vita and going up against the launch day of the Xbox One ensured nobody actually played it. So Sony is giving a second chance, with Tearaway Unfolded.

This is a lot more than a typical remaster; the game has been completely re-engineered for the PS4, adding new gameplay mechanics to the game’s levels, to the point where it’s a bit surprising Media Molecule and Sony didn’t simply make this a straight-up sequel. The sense of whimsy and the utter strangeness of the game stays intact; the animate paper people you guide are fully aware of your existence and worship you as a god which is… kinda creepy when you think about it.

To see how Aoti and Iota deal with an incompetent and possibly vengeful god controlling them, we’ll be firing up the stream at 2:50 p.m. EST and going until 4:50 p.m. You can currently find me on Twitch, and if you want to see it directly, check out the livestream below.
