Who’s ready to start an organized crime ring in London? That’s right, the Uproxx GammaStream returns with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate!
This entry in the series follows up on the unevenly received Assassin’s Creed Unity, which, uh, had some problems, to put it mildly. So this is Ubisoft’s bid to deliver a new, polished look at the franchise, and also let us get our stabby ya-yas out.
Admittedly, it’s starting from a deficit, because there are no boats. But the game offers a pull-no-punches look at Victorian London, which was a completely disgusting place where you could be a prolific serial killer and nobody would notice. That in of itself is intriguing, especially because the series could be excused for taking the airships-and-progress attitude towards an era we’re eternally fascinated with in pop culture. Rendering a historical era in exacting detail has always been one of this series’ great virtues and we’re excited to give it a look.
