New ‘Warcraft’ Character Videos Give Us A Look At The Cast With Epic, Orc-Stabbing Action

The trailers and TV spots for the upcoming Warcraft movie have delivered plenty of CGI spectacle and action, but they haven’t done a great job of introducing the film’s characters. Who are the major players in Warcraft, and what are their roles? It’s currently a bit murky.

Well, Universal is trying to clear things up a bit with a new series of short videos focused on Warcraft characters Khadgar, Garona, Lothar and Durotan. First up we have Khadgar (Ben Schnetzer), a mage that’s barely been featured in the promotional materials thus far. Despite that, it looks like he’s going to be a fairly major part of the story, and a bit of a magic-hurling badass.

Next up we have Garona (Paula Patton), a half-orc, half-human who will be playing both sides of the conflict and spearing a lot of bad guys in the gut.

Lothar (Travis Fimmel) is our warrior character, and appropriately he’s kind of generic. But hey, he can swing a mean broadsword.

Finally we have Durotan (Toby Kebbell), who you’re probably already familiar with, as he’s been the main focus of all the trailers and ads so far. He can punch things real good!

There’s plenty of new footage in the above videos, so definitely give ’em a look. I’m still not entirely sold on Warcraft, but this strikes me as one of those movies that needs to be seen in 3-D on the big screen, so I’m reserving judgment for now.

Warcraft storms theaters June 10.
