At this point, demakes and parodies of any major trailer are all but inevitable. But it’s rare that one gets pulled off with such attention to detail, bugs and all.
Found by Gizmodo, the trailer hits every beat in the original. Just… a little flatter and with less detail. The opening alone is both hilarious and nostalgic, although I have to wonder even as an adult why putting a painting on a roller was so hard with ’90s graphics technology.
If the pacing and sense of humor feels familiar, Noober Goober Gaming, the animation team behind it, also gleefully stuck it to Floyd Mayweather in a parody of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!. Really, they should just be animating every ridiculous pop culture moment from now on. Maybe if they get paid enough, they could just animate the upcoming presidential race. Everybody in that field would look better as sprites anyway.
