Turtle Rock Studios (the guys behind Left 4 Dead) have been teasing their next project, entitled Evolve, for a while, and today they finally threw the curtain back. On paper at least, Evolve sounds like a pretty great idea — it’s another team co-op game like Left 4 Dead, but this time around you’re a group of four alien hunters stalking their prey through a Predator-like jungle setting. The twist is, these aliens are massive and controlled by a fifth player.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Being able to play as the giant bosses has always been one of gaming desires. That said, one big criticism — apparently there’s no local co-op. ARRRGH! Stop doing this developers! Some of us have real-life friends/loved ones we want to play cool games with!
Evolve is coming later this year on next-gen consoles and PC.
