The CW’s DC Comics Teamup Series Will Be ‘Different,’ According To Its Producer

The CW is rather busy becoming the DC Comics channel. Arrow and The Flash are hits, and in fact, they’re so important to The CW, a third series is in development starring pretty much every DC hero the two shows have introduced and three new ones besides. It’s all very vague, but fortunately, Andrew Kreisberg, one of the producers, is relatively chatty with fans.

Kreisberg doesn’t give away much, like, oh, we don’t know, a title, but he does explain the show’s tone to Green Arrow TV:

“We want to keep some surprises going, but we’re really excited about that series…just to add another leg to the tripod, and complete it. We’ll get to see some of the characters that we’ve seen and introduce a whole bunch of new characters, and show them all in a different way, and have the show really feel different. As different as Flash feels from Arrow, this new show will feel different from both of them.”

Well, the former is relatively lighthearted, and the latter is somewhat grim these days, so that leaves a lot of room. He also explained the show lacks a title because they wanted to lock in the cast before they built anything else.

One big question mark, of course, is the fact that Caity Lotz, a fan favorite, is coming back in some capacity. But, in current continuity, she’s about as dead as it gets, what with the arrows to the gut and being thrown off a three-story building. Of course, the show has a plot device for dealing with just such a situation, but we suspect whether or not they use it depends on this third series getting an order. We’ll likely learn more at San Diego Comic-Con, if there’s anything else to learn.
