Watch The Cast Of ‘The Flash’ Sing The ‘Firefly’ Theme A Capella

We all knew that Grant Gustin from The Flash could sing, but check out the pipes on Cisco, Joe West, and Eddie Thawne. Or, more specifically, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, and Rick Cosnett.

If you’re wondering why these three are paying tribute to Joss Whedon, the answer lies on Kickstarter. West, Valdes, and Cosnett are working together on a short experimental film called The Letter Carrier. Here’s the plot summary:

A mother hides her family from slavery in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The children have grown up with a tale of a man known as The Letter Carrier. As the legend goes, he roams the mountains looking for children to sell as slaves. Painted against this historical backdrop, it is a raw, mysterious, and interpretive fable. Told through a cappella song, using original folk music, spirituals and a score using only natural sounds.

So, where does Joss Whedon come in? He pledged an amount over any of their reward categories, apparently just because he wanted to see the short. And with four days to go on the Kickstarter, that’s a pretty big deal. So he got a song from them in appreciation.

If you’d like to kick in, go on over and take a look at the rewards. In the meantime, you’ve got four cast members who can sing, a Joss Whedon connection, and Neil Patrick Harris never needing money again. Hey, CW, how about a little Music Meister in our Flash?
