Listen up, you primitive screwheads! It has been well over a month since the first official trailer for Starz’s Ash Vs. Evil Dead series premiered at Comic-Con. Since then, most trepidations any die hard Evil Dead fan held regarding the new program seems to have fallen to the wayside. Not only does it look like Bruce Campbell is returning to play Ash at the absolute right time, the reunion of Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert on the project make the whole thing feel almost too perfect.
Given the timing of Bruce Campbell’s Horror Film Festival — which wrapped itself up Sunday night — the network released a new series trailer for the masses. The clip above is roughly half the running time of the first preview with a similar intro and collection of scenes. However, we are treated to a few pieces of new footage which includes another quick glimpse of Lucy Lawless as Ruby Knowby.
The highly anticipated program also stars Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Jill Marie Jones. Most importantly: Sam Raimi is not only returning to his horror roots in producing the new series, but he directed the first episode of the 10-episode first season! Ash Vs. Evil Dead is set to premiere on Starz on Halloween night, fittingly.
Until then, who wants to stop for churros?
