Customers Can Trick Out Their Fords With A Flux Capacitor, Just In Time For ‘Back To The Future’ Day

It was only a matter of time before auto-maker Ford jumped on board the Back to the Future Day bandwagon. With October 21st right around the corner, the car company has delivered a cool new Easter Egg for fans and shoppers alike. Between the dates of Oct. 21st and the 26th, customers will be able to visit the “Build and Price” page for either a 2016 Ford Focus or Fiesta and during the customization process, they will be given the option to add a flux capacitor — powered fully by 1.21 gigaWatts — to the vehicle in question

Priced at only $1,219,390, the flux capacitor is the focal point of your brand new time traveling machine — and a class exclusive for the Ford — reminiscent of Doc Emmett Brown’s own invention which was featured in his time hopping DeLorean. Throughout the above promotional video, the auto company does lay out some warnings by stating the new feature is “for recreational use only” and adds that “interfering in major historical events is illegal and could have unintended consequences for all of humanity.” But don’t worry your pretty little heads, because it sure does look cool!

Once the customization process is complete — you know you won’t be able to buy this car, right? — customers will be showing how their new flux capacitor looks on the dash. Taking the place of Ford’s SYNC system, your new Fiesta or Focus will no longer have that pesky navigation system but that’s okay because where you’re going, you won’t need roads.
