Gal Gadot Says Wonder Woman Isn’t In ‘Batman V Superman’ For The Men

In anticipation of Gal Gadot “stealing the show” as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, the former soldier and combat trainer for the Israeli army sat down with Glamour Magazine for a long interview about how she got the job, other jobs she missed out on, her husband and daughter, gaining 17 pounds of muscle before filming, and dealing with internet haters who complained about her boobs.

The most interesting part of the interview may have been when Gadot spoke on Wonder Woman not being there to be anyone’s servant.

GLAMOUR: Were there certain things that you felt were particularly important in portraying Wonder Woman?

Gal Gadot: For [Batman V Superman] it was important for me that we show how independent she is. She is not relying on a man, and she’s not there because of a love story. She’s not there to serve someone else.

GLAMOUR: It’s pretty clear she doesn’t need help from anybody!

Gal Gadot: She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she’s a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence. She’s loving.

This jibes with the description of her from some Brazilian merchandise, which pegged her as an undercover superhero posing as an antiques dealer. She’s just dealing antiquities and doling out ass whoopings. #JustGirlyThings.
