Danny Woodburn Joins ‘Ninja Turtles’ As Its Angry Philly Splinter

Michael Bay’s upcoming Ninja Turtles flick has already found it’s April O’Neil and all four of the Turtles themselves, so only one big casting question remains — who’s going to be playing Vernon? No wait, that’s not it. Uhhh, who’s going to be playing Master Splinter? Yeah, there we go.

Well, we now have our answer — Splinter is going to be played by Danny Woodburn. You probably best remember him as Mickey the “angry dwarf” from Seinfeld and for just generally being one of the busiest little person actors during the late 90s/early 2000s.

So yeah, they’re definitely trying something new with ol’ Master Splinter. I mean, I suppose Woodburn could effect Splinter’s traditional “gentle faux Asian” accent, but it seems unlikely. Get ready for angry Philadelphian Splinter!
