Be sure to load up on chimichangas before traveling off to Comic Con Experience Sao Paulo in Brazil because Deadpool is headed to town. According to Coming Soon, the fast-talking superhero will be a part of the panel hosted by 20th Century Fox, and Ryan Reynolds once again suited up as the Merc with a Mouth to provide a short teaser for fans attending the event.
This little video keeps in line with the film’s canny marketing campaign to sell the unconventional character to audiences. From Reynolds’ pervasive social media presence to teasers of trailers that are actually entertaining in their own right, Deadpool is working hard to stand out in a news culture dominated by Batman and Star Wars and has gone out of its way to endear itself to the audience rather than simply advertise. Reynolds and the character have also promised in the past that this is definitely totally not at all going to be like the Not-Deadpool he portrayed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
X-Men series regulars Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner are also producing Deadpool, with Tim Miller as the director and a screenplay by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The film is to be released on February 12, 2016, and also stars Gina Carano (Haywire), Morena Baccarin (Spy), and T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley).
