‘Final Fantasy XV’ Drops A Release Date, New Demo And A ‘Florence And The Machine’ Infused Trailer

Final Fantasy XV has been in the works for a very long time, since 2006 in fact, but after a decade of development, there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Last night, Square-Enix held their Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event, revealing a firm release date and a whole lot of other tidbits for Final Fantasy fanatics. First up, that release date – it’s September 20, 2016, and Square-Enix dropped a stunning new trailer set to a version of Stand By Me performed by Florence + The Machine. You can check it out above.

Square-Enix also announced a new “demo,” that’s really more of a stand-alone game. Platinum Demo: Final Fantasy XV follows a young version of Noctis as he explores a quirky dream world, and features content and areas you won’t find in the final version of Final Fantasy XV. Platinum Demo is completely free and is available to download on Xbox One and PS4 right now.

Finally, Square-Enix unveiled an all-new Final Fantasy CGI movie, featuring the voices of Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Sean Bean and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), and a Final Fantasy XV anime.

Phew! That’s a whole lot of Final Fantasy XV stuff! So, who’s excited for the next big Final Fantasy? Anybody downloaded the Platinum Demo already? Venture forth into the comments section and discuss.
