In case you haven’t heard everywhere by now, Jesse Eisenberg is playing Lex Luthor in Batman versus Superman. No, really. He may have even known about the role last October. Now Screen Junkies of Honest Trailers fame has made a masterful supercut of clips from the movies of Jesse Eisenberg and other Batman versus Superman actors.
If Lex Luthor is going to be a smarmy start-up billionaire in the Man Of Steel sequel, this mashup demonstrates how that could actually work. It also has the appropriate amount of homoeroticism for a Zack Snyder film.
I’d watch that. And, hey, it could be worse. Much, much worse…
Photoshops by Jon Blair and E.J. Coughlin. Hat tip to Geekosystem and THR.
Man of Steel was so terrible I don’t see why anyone would want to watch this new one, regardless of the casting.
The only thing I kept thinking watching this was “thank god that fuck-awful, unfunny, nerdy mcnerdpants from screen junkies didn’t show up to intro the video” …. But then he pops up in the promo auto play videos at the end!!! Damn you!
Eh fuck it, I’ll watch the shit out of Superman vs. Mark Zuckerberg.
When you say, ” it could be worse. Much, much worse…” you mean way better, right? That’s the movie they should be making, with Matt Damon as Robin and Mila Kunis as Catwoman or Batgirl (doesn’t really matter). Make it a stoner comedy, have it rated R and it will be the highest grossing comedy of all time, beating The Hang Over.
I love a good super hero movie as much if not more than the next guy, but there are so many out there. A straight up comedy staring super heroes is what this city needs. However, due to fans being whiny and douchy about everything these days, what we’ll end up getting is what we deserve.
Well, Thor wasn’t exactly a dark brooding Superhero movie. Dark and Brooding isn’t really a problem either… it’s the lack of evolution and expansion of the genre. Avengers has a lot of funny dialogue along with some great action, but Avengers isn’t a comedy. I’m talking full on comedy staring super heroes and villains. Take the Adam West Batman and Archer as examples. Are they super hero/action shows? Are they comedies? It’s hard to really nail it down to one genre or the other. Archer, for example has some genuinely great action scenes, but is also hilarious. Batman has some far out kooky comic book plots, but was also tongue and cheek silly. Just because an A list celebrity puts on a mask and cape doesn’t mean he has to be super serious about the whole thing. In fact… there’s really no reason why he should be super serious about it at all.
Michael Cera as the Joker is a surprisingly effective image.
Throw in James Franco as Two Face and Jay Baruchel as The Riddler and you’ve got something going on. Seth Rogen could play Guy Gardener and Craig Robertson as John Stewart and I’d be there opening night.
If they are doing it in lego form that could be awesome.
It’s official. Superman now has “Little Woody Allen” as a villain.
Jesse Eisenberg acts just like Woody Allen. He just needs the glasses to push up every once in a while.
