Fans of Jessica Jones are waiting patiently for season two and while we all had a feeling months ago that we wouldn’t be getting new episodes anytime soon, Jessica Jones herself, Krysten Ritter told Digital Spy that new episodes will be filming, but it will be back to back with The Defenders.

Filming for The Defenders or Jessica Jones hasn’t started yet, but Ritter is throwing out some hints as to what might happen in season two of Jessica Jones, including the possibility of some cross-over action:

“Kilgrave was her reason for getting up every morning. Saving people gave her purpose. I wonder how emotionally taxed she’s going to be now. That opens a lot of doors as to who will come out and play. We all live in the same universe, so there are endless possibilities.”

Ritter also briefly discussed the gritty series, Luke Cage starring Ritter’s co-star, Mike Colter which will debut later this year.

“Marvel have this grand plan. Luke Cage will come out, then Iron Fist. In terms of scheduling I don’t know how it will all come out and I can’t even tell you if I’ve filmed Luke Cage. But I’m excited for Mike to have his own show. I know the tone of that show is going to be very different.”

The Defenders will feature all of Netflix’s Marvel offerings, including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and the upcoming Iron Fist. We might even get some of The Punisher too.
