Potterheads have been waiting impatiently for new information regarding Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the latest entry into the beloved canon. While a majority of fans probably won’t get the chance to see the play performed live, they will still get the opportunity to consume the latest Harry Potter story in the form of a book (but not a novel). Still, the limited access to the play has done nothing to slake the enthusiasm of fans, who are falling over themselves to get even a hint of new details about the world of boggarts, Hogwarts, and butterbeer. Although the last book was published in 2007 and the final film was released in 2011, the Potter fandom is still very much alive.
Luckily for us, nerd queen J.K. Rowling is active on Twitter and delights in dropping tidbits of Potter lore online. Today she posted sketches of new wand designs for the play, and while it seems innocuous enough, it does confirm some new information regarding the plot. Until now, there had been no mention of the appearance of Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter’s nemesis/secret lover depending on the fan fiction that you read, in The Cursed Child. While we have yet to find out exactly how big his role will be, the inclusion of more beloved characters in this continuation of canon is extremely exciting.
You know what rounds off a great day? A private screening of #FantasticBeasts. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

In other Rowling news, she also got to take in a private screening of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them this afternoon, so she is definitely enjoying the fruits of her labors. What have you done today?
