Let’s Talk Thursday’s Geeky TV: ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Goes Back To The Future

Give Legends of Tomorrow this; they’ve been promising a trashed Starling City for five episodes and sure enough, they’re following through. Only now Starling City is a hellhole in the future, not in our time. Well, okay, it’s worse. It’s still pretty bad in 2016.

Credit where it’s due, they’re actually bothering to answer the fan question of how Starling City manages to keep it together as a municipality. It doesn’t! Ollie is just, apparently, delaying the inevitable! Which is sorta depressing, when you think about it, but one assumes the team will somehow make things better. Considering they’ve got a Deathstroke running around, really, anything they do can only improve the place. Even setting off Malcolm’s earthquake machine would help, or at least clear away some real estate for, like, an evil lair or something.

Joking aside, the show stretching its legs and trying out some of the weirder concepts comic books explore regularly has been fun to watch. Of all the comic-based shows on the air right now, this one is the most like reading an actual comic book every week, although they need to give Ray more to do. So far he’s just been overly chipper and gotten beaten up a lot. Let’s see Ray get small and kick butt! Maybe he’ll get a chance tonight, and we’ll find out at 8 p.m. EST on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
