It’s been over two years since we’ve had an update on Legendary Pictures’ Mass Effect film adaptation. Back then, Mark Protosevich (Thor, I Am Legend) was writing the first draft. Now Variety reports Morgan Davis Foehl has been hired to write a new script after “producers sparked to Foehl’s take on the project, given that he is a Mass Effect fan, but also has penned action pics with a strong espionage bent, something that factors into the overall plot of the Mass Effect games.”
Davis-Foehl has yet to have a script produced, but he had one on the 2009 Black List, and he wrote Alien Sleeper Cell and worked on Rescue Me as well as some Happy Madison films. [/film]
It took a while to track down anything on that Blacklist screenplay. It was called Whatever Gets You Through The Night and follows a mob lawyer’s son who’s been on the run for ten years and must decide if he’d rather go to prison or help the man who killed his mother. No movies Foehl has written have made it to theaters yet, but he was an assistant editor on Click and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. We guess somebody had to edit those movies. Whatever gets you through the night, man.
