Way back in the year 1990, two of the sci-fi and fantasy world elite teamed up to write a novel. That novel was called Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch and was co-authored by nerd gods Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. At the time, Neil Gaiman was a well known comic writer while Terry Pratchett was a certified heavyweight in the realm of fantasy and sci-fi thanks to his Discworld series of novels. So it seemed almost natural for the well-known and respected Pratchett to team up with an upstart like Gaiman to pen a novel about the son of Satan, an angel and a demon attempting to prevent the end of times and finding themselves enjoying just chilling in England instead.

Since then both men have gone on to do some amazing work, but Good Omens always held a special place for fans. Initially, there was talk of Good Omens making its way to television as far back as 2002, then in 2011 only for nothing to ever materialize. Since then Terry Pratchett has passed on from this world and had one last wish for his dear friend and their work; for Gaiman to pen an adaptation of the show himself. According to The Guardian, Gaiman announced this on Thursday at a memorial event for Pratchett, who passed away in March of 2015 due to Alzheimer’s disease. Apparently Pratchett had a note written up for Gaiman that was sent to him after his passing where he expressed his wishes for Gaiman to adapt the book for television, which Gaiman will do in six episodes.

BBC Radio 4 produced a version of Good Omens back in 2014 that featured both Pratchett and Gaiman in voice roles prior. Gaiman had urged them to do so to allow for Pratchett to enjoy hearing their story while he still could.
