‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Adds Actress Jona Xiao To Its Increasingly Stuffed Cast

Were you hoping the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming would be perhaps a more straightforward, down-to-Earth adventure after the bloated mess that was The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Well, keep hoping because not only is Homecoming probably going to have (at least) three villains, but it also just added yet another name to its increasingly bloated cast.

The latest addition is Jona Xiao, who has appeared on Kroll Show and Halt and Catch Fire, and has a role in the upcoming Jon Hamm/Gal Gadot movie Keeping Up with the Joneses. Xiao’s character is being kept under wraps, but at 27 she’s just a bit out of range to play one of Peter Parker’s high school chums. Maybe she’s an assistant to one of the movie’s many villains? Or perhaps a villain herself? It’s impossible to say for sure.

Xiao joins a large, diverse cast that includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Michael Keaton as Vulture, Zendaya as Mary Jane Watson (probably), Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Tony Revolori, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Michael Chernus as The Tinkerer, and Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, Selenis Leyva, Abraham Attah, Michael Mando, Garcelle Beauvais, Tiffany Espensen, Angourie Rice, and Martha Kelly in various unspecified roles. That’s… that’s a lot of names.

Spider-Man: Homecoming and its packed school bus of people swings into theaters July 7, 2017.
