In a major upset, “These Are The Voyages…” beat “Code of Honor” for a spot in the Egregious Eight. And our final round of the Sulfurous Sixteen features a smug Voyager episode versus Quark in drag.
“Night”
Voyager, Season 5, Episode 1
This was an attempt to get back to the serious “message” sci-fi that made Trek great. Instead, it was a successful achievement in reminding us how ham-fisted and just generally awful Voyager could be.
“Profit and Lace”
DS9, Season 6, Episode 23
Or, as commenter Dekker so aptly summed it up, “Some Like It Quark”. Because we wanted to see Quark with breasts, an image scientifically proven to reverse puberty in teenagers.
Log your votes in the comments or on Facebook, and remember, whichever episode wins this round is up against “Sub Rosa” in the Egregious Eight!
Profit and Lace. I hate you Quark, may the Mayor eat you again.
Profit And Lace: I could make an argument about how they should have gone either completely serious or totally slapstick instead of trying to mix the two, but we all know what’s worth a thousand words:

Thanks for the props, Admiral Seitz – I’m guessing both Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis are rolling in their graves…
Maybe it was on the dvd special features where I saw that the original intent was go 100% serious. That may have been something unique, and possibly show some real growth and emotion, but alas, we’ll never know.
Profit and Lace, over and over again. The DS9 wiki has a pretty good explanation of all the reasons this episode went poorly, as well as how it could’ve been less shitty. Sadly, the result is what it is, and I doubt it looks good on Siddiq’s directorial reel.
“Some Like it Quark.” Both because it was a stupid episode and also because I am one of the 8 people that actaully liked “Night”.
Some Like It Quark? Not this guy.
Night bad, but…c’mon. C’MON!
“Profit and Lace” for all of the obvious reasons, and never forgetting that someone on the writing and production staff of DS9 kept saying at meetings: “You know, I’m tired of the Dominion, the mysteries of shape-shifters, the trans-temporal and trans-dimentional nature of the wormhole and the tense Palestine parable of Bajor. What people really want in their science fiction is more Ferengi jokes. Make it so.”
I think the Ferengi factor might carry this one to overall victory.
My vote goes to Night. At least Profit & Lace TRIED to be funny, all Nigh tried to be was preachy and awful. Plus the worst episode of DS9 beats the best episode of Voyager just on principal.
Profit and Lace. The worst of the worst is the worst, then you have Profit and Lace. I’m thinking of taking a creative writing class just so I could find the words to describe how terrible this episode was. And the answer is yes, in case you were wondering. I was going to make a cunning linguist joke, but I decided to take the high road.
Trip does a magic trick that leaves T’Pol naked. She says, “that’s a cunning stunt”. He replies…
(sorry decorum fans, delete this post if necessary)
again… there is no profit in that lace except a trip to the final four.
Quarknuggets for the win. Or is winning actually loss in this particular endeavor?
Seriously. NIGHT is based on SHIT!!! Even Kate thought so
Night
Some like it Quark. Any ferengi-centric episode, really…
