Inspired by the Red Skull’s appearances in the comics and Hugo Weaving’s performance in Captain America: The First Avenger, Damon began the process of becoming the physical embodiment of the character, complete with facial tattoos and the removal of the tip of his nose.
Venezuelan Henry Damon now goes by the name Red Skull after he had the end of his hooter surgically removed to look like Captain America’s nemesis.
The tattooed 37-year-old, who is happily married, has already had bumps put on his forehead and arms.
Pal Pablo Hernandez, 38, said of the happily married dad: “He has loved comic books since he was a kid and always dreamed of being Red Skull, but never got round to doing it.
“Then he met up with a brilliant surgeon who specialises in extreme body modifications and just knew that this was his opportunity.”
It’s nice when someone’s dreams come true, but there are other Marvel villains that might require a bit less commitment. How about a nice bullseye brand on the forehead ala Colin Farrell in Daredevil? He’s comparatively less evil and there would be less medical bills. Plus, you could always cover it up with a nice hat for those “incognito” days.
How about the 1990 Captain America film? The Red Skull got to keep his nose in that.
By the way, Damon isn’t even done with his transformation. According to comments made to The Mirror by the former medical student that did the procedure, Damon still has to have his face dyed red and he needs to endure a series of silicone implants in his face. Then he needs someone to start an internet rumor that he’s going to be played by Robert Redford and everything will be complete.
In all seriousness, I wonder where Marvel stands on something like this. Technically, the Red Skull is their intellectual property, but I suppose all publicity is good publicity and would you really want to take on this guy?
No. You would not.
