There have been a lot of rumors going around about who the next Lara Croft will be when Tomb Raider returns to screens, after an absence of more than a decade. And, it turns out, it won’t be Daisy Ridley after all, but Alicia Vikander.

Vikander is best known for her role as a robot woman in Ex Machina and her Oscar-winning turn in The Danish Girl, and she’s got a tough role ahead of her. The Croft in this reboot won’t be the high-flying Indiana Jones-esque Croft of the Angelina Jolie movies, but the bookish Lara from the recent highly popular reboot of the video games that added horror elements to the game. In the game, Lara goes from a shy archaeology student to, by the end, an ass-kicking adventurer with a thread of darkness running through her.

The movie will be directed by Roar Uthaug, who’s shown a facility for large-scale action an destruction with the Norwegian disaster movie The Wave (and also, come on, a guy with a name like that should be directing Tomb Raider. He probably got the job just by introducing himself.) The Tomb Raider reboot doesn’t have a release date, but currently it’s reported we might see it sometime in 2017.
