Vin Diesel Confirmed That ‘Riddick’ Is Making A Comeback On The Big And Small Screens

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve had a quite long run with Vin Diesel’s Riddick up to this point. It all started with a supporting role in the excellent Pitch Black, leading to a couple of pretty decent video game experiences, one mythology building letdown of an epic, and a back to basics revival. None have managed to capture the excellence of Pitch Black to this point, but Diesel is still trying.

The Fast And Furious star took to Instagram on Friday and confirmed the existence of a fourth Riddick film titled Furia, the name of the anti-heroes home planet, and then teased a bit more in the form of a new spin off:

Last night Our company had a party to launch Our TV division. Very exciting. MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe.
Next Month, DT begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick… FURIA.

Mashable notes that the DT in question is writer/director David Twohy, the other main force behind the film series. If this results in a game that is anywhere near as good as Butcher Bay, I could be in. And if it results in a movie experience that isn’t Chronicles again, that will be even better.
