A John Wall Buzzer-Beater Capped One Of The Worst ‘NBA 2K18’ Beats You’ll Ever See

Twitch user Moy Boss saw himself on the losing end of one of the most improbable finishes in ‘NBA 2K18‘ history, with a bad miss inside followed by an insane buzzer-beater that broke a tie game and left him stunned.

There’s a lot of weirdness here with the players on each team, but the Grizzlies and Cavaliers were playing an online match that was tied at 59. Moy Boss is playing a game online against a user named Tk_StrikeZ.

James Harden is wearing a Memphis Grizzlies jersey and he has the ball. Harden — Moy Boss — drives the lane, putting up a shot with 4.9 seconds to go. But it doesn’t go.

“NOOO!” Moy Boss screams as Harden misses the layup inside. “Are you kidding me?”

The ball is rebounded by virtual Kevin Love, who makes an outlet pass to … John Wall? OK, sure. He takes the pass just before the Cavaliers three-point line and puts up a desperation heave with 1.8 left on the clock.

Swish.

Moy Boss is stunned. He rushes out of his chair, his headset and controller thrown about. He leaves the camera’s view altogether, a shot of an empty chair all that’s there while the virtual Cavaliers celebrate the win.

“How about that shot?” virtual Kevin Harlan asks while silence otherwise fills the room. It’s about as bad a beat as you can take, a superstar missing a high-percentage shot inside and then immediately giving up a three on a miracle shot with no time left. Basketball is a cruel game, and video game basketball is a cruel world of probabilities and pixels.

Moy Boss’s online record might have taken the L here, but at least it got him some attention.
