‘Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection’ Will Give The Renaissance A Remastering

Rumors have been floating around for some time, but now it’s been confirmed by Ubisoft – Renaissance man Ezio Auditore da Firenze is returning to stab some necks on the Xbox One and PS4.

Ezio was the main historical character in Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Born into Italian nobility during the Renaissance period, Ezio witnesses his family being murdered by Templars, so he reforms the Assassins to take them out. While going about his bloody task, Ezio of course also chums around with Leonardo da Vinci and other celebs from the era. While later Assassin’s Creed titles have improved and polished the series’ gameplay, the Ezio trilogy remains the series’ peak in terms of writing and characterization.

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection will feature “enhanced graphics” (Ubisoft isn’t elaborating on exactly what that means yet), all the trilogy’s DLC, and a couple short films that explore Ezio’s backstory in a bit more detail. The collection won’t include the multiplayer modes from Brotherhood and Revelations, but that isn’t exactly a huge loss.

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection will cost $60, and comes with an $8 coupon for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie. The collection sneaks into stores November 15.
