King Mo Gets His Revenge Against Rampage Jackson Then Books A Ryan Bader Fight At Bellator 180

Rampage Jackson vs. King Mo 2: The massive heavyweight mismatch we never thought we needed. Rampage Jackson’s 253 pounds gave him a 41-pound weight advantage over King Mo, but ultimately it was a disadvantage as the slow and sluggish Rampage just couldn’t get it done.

That isn’t to say Page looked awful. At times, his weight actually stopped some of Mo’s many takedown attempts, but as expected, Rampage’s massive weight gain didn’t bode well for his speed. So, we got a sluggish, and oddly intense grappling match outside of a few flurries that left King Mo admittedly “cross-eyed” for a stretch of the fight.

If Rampage wants to keep fighting at heavyweight, 253 is not the weight for him. Maybe a nice 240 pounds would work out for him, or 235. Something to show he hit the elliptical once or twice between hitting the mitts. Granted, he wasn’t finished, and even got a 3rd round takedown, but… C’mon Rampage. No more of this.

The fight was pretty damn close, though. Even if it had to carry an extra 50 pounds.

After the fight, Bellator’s new signing, Ryan Bader, strutted out to the cage, shook Mo’s hand and booked himself a Bellator 180 fight in Madison Square Garden. That’s a solid card.

So, let’s break this down: Bader has a win over Bellator light heavyweight champion Phil Davis (who beat King Mo) and Bader also beat Rampage (who didn’t make weight in their fight funny enough), and now he’s fighting King Mo seemingly for a title shot. Alright. Sounds good. Bellator is getting fun.
