‘Batgirl’ And ‘Green Lantern Corps’ Still Coming: Warner Releases Its Current Slate Of Upcoming DC Films

Warner is restructuring their DC films after the huge amount of money Justice League made just wasn’t huge enough, but how will the shakeup effect their future slate of films? Perhaps not as much as you might have guessed, based on Warner’s panel at Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Sunday. We got to see how their current slate compares to the ones released in 2014 and July of this year, and how it also cross-references with movies rumored to be in the works.

Here are the films Warner listed at Sunday’s panel, in order mentioned:

  • Wonder Woman II
  • Aquaman
  • Flashpoint
  • Justice League Dark
  • Suicide Squad 2
  • Shazam
  • Batgirl
  • Green Lantern Corps
  • The Batman

A couple of things jump out right away: there’s no mention of Justice League 2 or the Cyborg movie announced for 2020 by Warner a few years ago, and the Justice League Dark movie we thought was dead after hearing nothing about it for over a year is apparently undead (which is fitting for the subject matter).

It’s also worth noting this slate is similar to the one announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July of this year, meaning movies rumored before and after then still haven’t been added to the schedule. That would include Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam solo movie, Man of Steel 2, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn solo movie, the Joker and Harley Quinn movie, Gotham City Sirens, a Deathstroke solo movie, a Nightwing movie, and a 1980s-set Joker movie produced by Martin Scorsese (!).

That means there are almost as many DC movies rumored to be in development than there are films on the actual slate. On the bright side, Warner’s presentation at Comic Con Experience 2017 on Sunday may put to rest some of the rumors circulating recently about Batgirl and Green Lantern Corps being cancelled.
