It’s been a couple days since we’ve provided you with an update on the breakup between John Cena and Nikki Bella — which will apparently be chronicled in full on the upcoming third season of Total Bellas. That means there’s a whole new batch of things that the involved parties are saying, including some choice quotes by Cena himself.
When we last left our heroes(?), Brie Bella insisted that she is still very close to Cena and still loves and supports both him and her sister despite the breakup. We also heard from a source that Nikki is the one who initiated the breakup, which has left Cena “a mess.”
Cena walked the red carpet at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, and as such, he had to field questions about his breakup from every entertainment reporter in the world. He spoke to both Access and TMZ and gave different quotes about how this breakup bites the big one.
“I’m not doing well. I love Nicole. We’re not together. On many occasions, that’s what — living your life in the public eye, you have to be — you have to take the good with the bad. So, the thing about doing these is, everybody’s like, ‘Oh man, that’s great. You’re doing all this stuff.’ Everybody has problems. Every person has problems. It sucks. I love her, and I miss her. And that’s that.”

“I love Nicole with all my heart and the split’s tough. It’s a tough time but that’s life. We all go through highs and we all go through lows. I’m gonna get through it. I love her. I’ll always love her. The fact that my heart hurts for her … I know I was in love. So, I’ll always have that.”
Meanwhile, Hollywood Life has the latest “unnamed source close to the situation” update for us. Their close friend of Nikki says that the formerly-engaged Bella twin still very much wants children, and that will be a desire she hopes to share with whomever she is in a relationship with next.
“Nikki would love to have kids and she wanted kids with John Cena but that obviously didn’t work out. But the next boyfriend she gets serious with she wants them to know that kids are a part of the equation. She is not going to date for fun. She is going to date for marriage and children. That is the person she wants to be in her dating future.”
And finally, to round out this whole roundup, Brie Bella spoke to Entertainment Tonight Canada and reiterated that Total Bellas is going to show some very personal conversations between Nikki and Cena that we’ll probably have a very hard time watching without putting our hands over our eyes, but that she’s still in close contact with Cena and the whole crew remains close, even if they won’t be a family going forward.
“As of right now I want to be there for him as much as I’m there for my sister. And Nicole respects that. It’s like losing a family member. It’s really hard. John has been a part of our lives for six years.”
Oh, Entertainment Tonight also talked to Cena in Las Vegas. And yes, he managed to get a laugh from saying his breakup sucks.
