Russell Westbrook Hung Out On Stage With Lil Wayne Like A Real MVP

Though Russell Westbrook won’t be able to add an NBA Championship to his historic Triple-Double season, it seems the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard is doing just fine. The Thunder were ousted from the playoffs by Houston, giving Russ a chance to hang out with one of his biggest fans.

Westbrook, seated in the balcony, got a shout out from Lil Wayne during his concert Thursday night in Oklahoma City before eventually being brought on stage:

Westbrook was joined by some of his fellow teammates as Wayne led the crowd in chanting ‘MVP’:

Weezy’s been vocal about Westbrook as his pick for MVP, explaining his reasoning (and most other people’s) on Fox Sports 1’s Undisputed with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe last week:

Though strong arguments can, and have been made for players like LeBron James, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard, you just can’t escape how impressive that Triple Double is, nor Westbrook’s unbelievable effort to surpass Oscar Robertson’s record instead of simply tying it.

Then again, if you look at the extremely accurate and scientific Dime process of best determining this year’s MVP, Russ is barely in the running. Sorry, bud.
