Justin Bieber Is Rapping His Ass Off On A New Young Thug And Diplo Collab ‘Bank Roll’

A brand new song from Diplo, Justin Bieber, Young Thug, And Rich The Kid just hit the internet via Soundcloud, and it features Justin Bieber rapping. Okay, well he’s not dropping #bars, but this is definitely a step beyond singing, and it’s a little bit beyond chanting too. This is Shawty Mane, back again.

The most surprising part for those unfamiliar with Bieber’s flow? He’s actually really good at it. Stays totally on beat, right in the pocket, easily incorporates ad-libs. He holds his own alongside Young Thug and Rich The Kid, who have verses of their own, mixed in with plenty of drops courtesy of Diplo’s production.

Bieber has, of course, dipped into the hip-hop world before, but this is the most clear distillation we’ve heard of him in the rap world in a minute. This comes on the heels of another great genre-hop, his appearance on Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” remix. Regardless, it sounds like whatever Bieber follows up Purpose with is going to have a lot of influences that come from far outside the pop world.

And it makes sense for a child pop star, who has been in the business for years, to want to expand and push himself as he grows up and begins to see himself as a much more serious artist. Then again, “Bank Roll” is pretty carefree and un-serious. Either way, it’s a trip. Listen above.
