Chrissy Teigen — model, television host, chef, author, avid gamer, and John Legend’s wife — is hilarious. A large part of the appeal of following her on social media or on her show Celebrity Lip Sync Battle is her unfiltered, offbeat, yet down-to-earth sense of humor. The good news is, she brought all that wit and charisma with her to her appearance on The Tonight Show‘s couch. The better news is, since she visited immediately after the Grammys, she also came armed with the best Beyonce story from the award show.
First, she spent a little time teasing host Jimmy Fallon with her burgeoning baby bump, complaining that strangers have posited a due date of “any day now.” Challenging Fallon to guess how far along she really is, she seemed to relish his reluctance to hazard a hypothesis (he gets it right at 5 months). Then she launches into the story, complaining that seat neighbor Jay-Z had his own personal bottle of wine at the Grammys while she herself was forced to attend the ceremony stone sober, which is a departure from her usual tradition.
Explaining that John was very brotherly with his salutation to longtime friend Jay, Chrissy contrasted his greeting with her own over-the-top reaction to Beyonce. “There’s nobody like seeing Beyonce in person,” she gushes. “I took her hands and I got down on my knees and said, ‘Sorry to bother you, my queen!’… So weird!”
Teigen capped off the hilarious interview by relating the awkwardness of crowd reactions to John Legend’s “All Of Me” after five years of hearing it. The whole chat is funny and charming and the perfect argument for why she’s one of the best people to follow on Twitter.
