After hyping the video on Instagram, Desiigner has released a new video for “Caliber.”
It’s a curious choice for Desiigner’s first video after his smash hit, “Panda,” as the song leaves plenty of room for Future sound-a-like critiques, but that’s true for much of his debut New English project. Until he releases tracks like the teased “Timmy Turner,” Desiigner won’t be known to the public as anything more than the rapper who everyone thought was Future when Kanye West debuted The Life of Pablo at Yeezy Season 2.
For the time being, it’s working out pretty well for the 19-year-old. “Panda” peaked at no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for two weeks and has topped the the Hot Rap Songs chart for 13 weeks. Whether or not Desiigner’s 15 minutes are almost up, he’s going to be eating off his one hit for quite some time.
