J. Cole’s ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ Possibly Reveals His New Role As A Dad

J. Cole may have joined Wale and DJ Khaled as the newest Rap Dad on the block. After secretly tying the knot to his longtime college sweetheart, Melissa Heholt, the couple may have recently welcomed their first child together. Isn’t love grand?

Much like that time news of his marriage was accidentally leaked by director Ryan Coogler earlier this year, Apple may have accidentally told the world about the the 31-year-old Dreamville rapper’s new bundle of joy. An early iTunes review for Cole’s upcoming 4 Your Eyez Only is out, and it describes Jermaine rapping about fatherhood and being the proud parent to a baby girl on a two-part track titled, “She’s Mine.”

The review labels “Mine” as one of the “most important” songs Cole has written in his career and describes Cole “hovering over his daughter and finding himself overcome by a strange feeling: hope.”

There’s still a possibility Cole may be speaking from the perspective of a future parent, much like Kanye did on “New Day.” As famously private as the rapper is, we probably won’t know what’s what until he tells us or until Ryan Coogler spills the tea again. Either way, 4 Your Eyez Only drops Friday, Dec. 9.
