Jeezy managed to top to the Billboard 200 charts with his new LP, Trap or Die 3. The distinction gives Jeezy his third number one release in his lengthy career. Trap of Die 3 ended up with 89,000 units in the week ending Nov. 3 with 73,000 those units coming in traditional album sales, per a report by Billboard.

Reaching the top wasn’t easy as Mr. Trap or Die had to edge country kingpin Kenny Chesney and his new release Cosmic Hallelujah. Chesney’s album scored 89,000 units earned with 79,000 coming in the form of traditional album sales. Jeezy edged out Chesney by having a “greater overall equivalent album unit figure, owed to the popularity of its tracks on streaming services.” While Chesney had 7,000 track equivalent units and 2,000 in streaming units, Jeezy wound up with 3,000 in track equivalent albums and 13,000 in streaming equivalent albums, thus giving him the edge.

But, having his albums so high on the charts isn’t exactly new territory for Pastor Young. In fact, all seven of his albums have been in the top 10 and his last full length, Church in These Streets, pushed out 107,000 units first week back in 2015. His two previous chart-toppers were The Inspiration (2006) and The Recession (2008).

“Over the course of a ten-year partnership, we have watched Jeezy grow as an acclaimed artist, entrepreneur and an enduring creative spirit to be reckoned with,” said Steve Bartels, CEO of Def Jam Recordings via press release. “I have tremendous respect for his artistry, tenacity and legendary hustle. All of us at Def Jam are proud to stand next to him and celebrate a great team win.”

Jeezy also released a new visual for the album track “G-Wagon,” which can be seen below. Stream Trap or Die 3 for free right here.
