LeBron Gave Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ A Rave Review After Thrashing The Pacers

LeBron James had one hell of a night. He spearheaded the Cleveland Cavaliers monstrous comeback from a 26-point deficit against the Indiana Pacers with a virtuoso second-half performance in Indiana. The four-time MVP finished the game with 41 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists with zero second half turnovers as he completed the comeback with J.R. Smith and three bench players to put the Pacers in a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 hole in the series.

So, yeah, it was a busy night for the King, but he still took the time during his post-game press conference to discuss the album everybody has been spinning all week but he has been bumping for a little while longer: Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. LeBron, of course, did the honor of premiering the songs we now know as “ELEMENT,” “FEEL” and “LUST” on his Instagram a day before the album dropped, so he’s familiar with the album. Everybody loves it, but one reporter just had to get Bron’s thoughts on the LP, and apparently he’s enjoying it just as much as the rest of the world.

“I haven’t stopped listening to it since he sent it to me before it came out,” LeBron said with a slight humble-brag. “The guy is an unbelievable talent. His wordplay and his lyrics (are) unbelievable.”

LeBron went on to discuss how relatable the album was to him and why he appreciates it so much. “It hit home for me because I was a kid that grew up in the inner-city, and this story of the notion that you either play basketball or sell drugs and that’s it, there’s no out. You become a statistic,” he said. “As an African-American kid growing up in the inner-city they don’t believe you can get out and become something. That’s why I’m able to relate to a lot of his lyrics and relate to a lot of his stories. He’s an unbelievable artist and an unbelievable person. I’m glad that he’s able to put those words on a track for all of us to hear it. For me I definitely appreciate it.”

So there it is, Kenny is even getting rave reviews from the other “The Chosen One.” Check out the rest of LeBron’s comments below.
