Fans Are Partying Like It’s 2009 Over The New T-Pain And Lil Wayne Mixtape ‘T-Wayne’

T-Pain got everyone’s ears perked up yesterday when he shared the cover image to his long-rumored collaboration project with Lil Wayne, titled T-Wayne over social media. People were excited by the visual, but most didn’t expect to hear anything further about the project in the near future. Then today hit, and T-Pain shocked the world by releasing eight, previously unheard tracks to his Soundcloud page.

What excited people the most about the songs was the fact that they weren’t new, but rather were written and recorded during the peak of both artist’s careers, that vaunted, highly-celebrated period in 2008 and 2009 when Wayne reigned as the undisputed “King of Rap.”

“This ain’t for y’all new n****s,” Pain wrote on Twitter. “These the lost files from ’09 and I’m tired of em just sittin on my hard drive.”

He then pointed everyone into the direction of writer Kyle Kramer for allowing us to finally get our hands on this new-old stock.

Fans of both artists who grew up during the era were understandably over the moon to wrap their ears around this new collection of music. The enthusiasm across social media was incredible, with some wondering how big this project could’ve been had it come out in the year it was created.
