A Metro Boomin’ Tweet Hints That Drake And Future Are Collaborating Again

All it takes is a tweet sometimes. Monday night, super producer Metro Boomin’ fueled rumors of a sequel to What a Time to Be Alive, Drake and Future‘s no. 1 album from last year. The frequent Future collaborator casually mentioned he was working on “Jumpman” with the two rappers last year on his birthday, so “it’s only right to keep the tradition going this week too.”

Now, of course Metro could’ve just meant he was in the studio, just like last year. The producer has asked news outlets not to take his tweet out of context, stating “the tradition is to stay in the studio on birthdays.”

Prior to the tweet about “Jumpman,” the Freebandz affiliate was musing about his upcoming birthday — it’s Friday, by the way, in case you want to give him birthday wishes — and trying to figure out his plans. “Everyone keeps asking me what do I have planned and what the move gon be.. nothing as of now lol,” he tweeted. “Probably just gonna be in the studio. that’s my favorite place to be anyway.”

Yes, Metro Boomin shot down the rumors, but at the same time it’s also possible he got in trouble for his Twitter fingers letting the cat out of the bag early. While Drake and Future are currently on the road for their massive Summer Sixteen tour, the last date is September 17. Given Future’s release rate, there’s sure to be plenty of material in the bag ready for Drake to hop on.
